This statement explains cookies and related website services on tanrub.com. Read it with our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. They can support sign-in, remember choices or help a service recognise a browser. Session cookies normally end with the browsing session; persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them. Website logs and external service requests can also process information without setting a cookie.
WordPress cookies
Tanrub uses WordPress. Most sign-in cookies apply to authorised users and administrators, rather than visitors simply reading product guides. The following are standard WordPress cookie families; the exact names include site- or user-specific suffixes and lifetimes can vary with configuration.
| Cookie or family | Purpose and when used | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
wordpress_test_cookie | Checks cookie support when the login page is visited. | Session |
wordpress_[hash], wordpress_sec_[hash], wordpress_logged_in_[hash] | Authenticate signed-in users. | Normally 2 days; up to 2 weeks with “Remember Me”. |
wp-settings-[user], wp-settings-time-[user] | Remember administrator display settings. | Normally 1 year |
wp_lang | Remembers a selected login language, where used. | Session |
comment_author_*, comment_author_email_*, comment_author_url_* | Remember comment fields if comments are available and you choose to save them. | Approximately 1 year |
These are conditional examples, not a claim that every cookie is set for every visitor. See WordPress cookie documentation.
Hosting, caching and security
Hostinger hosts the site and LiteSpeed Cache helps pages load efficiently. Temporary server-side page caches are different from browser cookies. Hosting and security systems may record connection information and use operational cookies where needed. Their behaviour can vary with site settings and the requests you make.
Amazon affiliate links
Tanrub links to Amazon Australia using an affiliate identifier. Clicking a shopping link takes you to Amazon, where Amazon may use cookies and similar technologies for shopping, account functions and affiliate attribution under its own terms. An affiliate identifier in a link is not itself a Tanrub cookie. Amazon controls the cookies on its website; read Amazon’s Privacy Notice and cookie information there. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Optional currency converter and translation
Submitting a currency conversion requests a rate from Frankfurter. Your chosen currency pair is sent, but the amount is calculated within your browser. The request omits credentials and the page referrer; the exchange-rate service still receives connection information such as your IP address.
The translation tool opens the selected page through Google Translate when you follow the translation link. Google may process connection information and use its own cookies according to your browser settings and its policies. Using the English site does not require opening Google Translate. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
Managing cookies
Use your browser’s privacy settings to inspect, delete or block cookies, including third-party cookies. You can also use private browsing, although it does not prevent all server logging or external service processing. Blocking cookies may affect sign-in or features on Tanrub and external websites. Deleting Tanrub cookies does not delete cookies already stored by Amazon or Google; manage those separately.
Tanrub does not currently provide a cookie preference panel. This statement explains the site’s use of cookies; it does not treat visiting the site as consent to every optional cookie. You can choose not to follow shopping or translation links or use the currency converter. Where a third-party service offers privacy controls, use that service’s controls.
